Lockleaf

Lockleaf · Coming summer 2026

Your phone unlocks
when the book does.

A small iOS app that turns your most distracting apps into reading time. To get back into Instagram, read a few pages of your book — then pass a quiz on what you just read.

iOS. Summer 2026. One email when it ships. No funnel.

How it works

  1. 1.

Pick the apps that eat your evenings.

Instagram. TikTok. X. Reddit. Whichever ones it is for you.

  2. 2.

Pick when you'd rather be reading.

Before 9am. After 7pm. The moments you'd otherwise be scrolling.

  3. 3.

During those hours, the book is the way back.

Open Instagram → "Read 10 pages of your book first." Read. Pass the quiz. Phone unlocks. Repeat tomorrow.

Why it works

Screen-time apps fail because they fight willpower with willpower. Reading goals fail because reading is a deferred reward — your phone is an immediate one.

Lockleaf changes the trade. It makes the cost of using your phone something you can't fake: comprehension of a real book. You can sit through a thirty-minute Pomodoro and learn nothing. You cannot pass a three-question quiz on a book you didn't read.

Who's building this

I'm Henry. I run Club West, a small software studio. I'm building Lockleaf because I have unread books on my nightstand and I spent last night on Instagram.

Join the list and I'll send you one note when it's ready. That's it.
